Post Travel
Approximately 55% of all travellers to developing countries will become unwell in some way whilst they are overseas. Around 40% will develop travellers’ diarrhoea. Many symptoms of illness can develop whilst away and travelling, but they may not become evident until returning home.
WORLDWISE® Travellers Health Centres in New Zealand assess ALL post travel illnesses. If you develop any of the following signs or symptoms upon return home and up to three months after travel, we suggest that you contact us for a medical assessment and examination.
- Fever
- Headaches
- Tiredness and exhaustion
- Muscle aches and pains
- Sweats (for example at night time)
- Diarrhoea and/or vomiting
- Blood in the urine or in bowel motions
PLEASE NOTE:
If you are scratched, bitten, or licked where the skin is broken
by an animal in an area where Rabies is endemic, we strongly recommend
that you seek medical advice immediately.
