KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Dr. Michael MoretonDr. Michael Moreton
MB ChB(UK) FRCS(Canada) Board Certified OBGYN (USA&China)
International Medical Coordinator Bangkok Hospital Medical Centre, Bangkok THAILAND

Dr Michael Moreton graduated from the University of Liverpool Medical School in the UK. After House officer positions in Liverpool and London he worked for the Cunard Company as the Ship’s Surgeon on the QE and was later an emergency room physician in Bermuda. He then trained in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the McGill University system in Montreal, Canada and on completing his training spent almost thirty years in community OB/Gyn in the US and Canada. In 1997 he moved to China, where he founded the first two western style maternity units in Beijing and Shanghai.

Whilst there he helped create a clinic and hospital dedicated to providing medical care to the ex-pat community. He spent time counseling new arrivals (especially teachers) about the health hazards of Asia, how they could lead healthy lives there, and offering advice on how and where to seek care if prevention techniques fail.

Dr Michael Moreton is currently the International Medical Coordinator at the Bangkok Hospital Medical Centre catering to local Thais, expats, tourists and fly-in patients from other countries.

Having been an expat for most of his life, Dr Moreton has an understanding of the health issues of those expats living in Asia and the concerns they have for themselves and their children.
