Expedition Mission

  • To conduct co-operative research with the Tropical Institute of Manaus, in determining the prevalence of Tropical and infectious diseases amongst the riverine population medicine of the Amazon

  • To educate children in New Zealand on the importance of the Amazon region in preserving the global environment

  • To cultivate an audience in understanding the importance of the Amaonas region’s Fauna and Flora

  • To investigate the marine biology of the Amazonas by way of study into sediment water fluxes and studying fish populations by collecting and collating data on what local fish are in the region

  • To acknowledge the cultures of the region and by doing so, appreciate and understand it

  • To undertake a journey that is safe
